    Benefits of GIST Scholarship 2026 in South Korea:

    • The scholarship will cover 100% tuition fee of international students (3,607,000 won per semester).
    • MS students will receive a monthly stipend of 140,000 Won.
    • PhD students will get a monthly stipend of 295,000 Won.
    • MS and PhD students will receive a meal allowance of around 100,000 Won.
    • Moreover, MS and PhD students will receive an international student allowance of 120,000 Won. However, students must maintain a three or higher GPA out of 4.5 in the previous semester.
    • MS students participating in research projects will receive a research assistantship of 6,400,000 won per year, while PhD students will get a research assistantship of 13,740,000 won per year.
    • Also, GIST will reimburse one-way flight to South Korea (only once).
    • It will also cover 60% of national health insurance, including annual medical checkup.

    Following are the supporting documents applicants must submit with the online application. Incomplete or incorrect applications will not be considered for the scholarship.

    • Official degrees and transcripts. Apostille is preferred or Korean Embassy certificate
    • Two letters of recommendation
    • A copy of the applicant’s passport
    • Official English language test report i.e., TOEFL (BT) 80, TOEFL (PBT) 550, IELTS 6.5, TOEIC 750, NEW TEPS 285
    • If you cannot get your test result in time, your home university can give you a professional English language proficiency certificate stating that English is the language of instruction in your previous university

    • Upon enrollment, students will receive an admission certificate, financial sponsorship certificate and letter of invitation.
    • The notification of admission result will be done by 4 December 2025.

    Application Process:

    • One must submit their application directly to the CSC using the CSC online application system. The request must be submitted and approved by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for which you have the academic appointment. The CSC will not accept any application that is not submitted through the CSC’s online application system.
    • Only one application per applicant will be accepted for these scholarships.
    • Supporting Documentation: You must provide the following supporting documentation by 4:00 PM (BST) on April 14, 2020 in order for the application to be eligible for consideration:
    • Proof of citizenship or refugee status; a copy of your valid passport (or national identification card) showing your photograph, date of birth and country of citizenship, uploaded in the online application system
    • Complete college transcripts and certificates detailing the qualification dates for your primary medical degree – uploaded to the online application system
    • Academic reference from the Head of the Teaching Hospital Department that describes how the acquired skills are required. All references must be submitted directly by the referees to the online application system (the referees will receive an application by email)
    • An endorsement from the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in which you have the academic appointment that confirms your academic appointment sent directly by the Dean to the online application system (an application will be sent by email to the Dean)
    • Statement of Support from Your Proposed First Choice Supervisor at UK University Hospital – Submitted Directly to CSC (Request to Email Supervisors)
    • The CSC will not accept supporting documents
