The World Food Prize Selection Committee will determine whether a joint nomination meets these criteria and, in cases where it judges that this standard has not been met, will limit the number of people considered.
    • Any academic institution, private or public organization or government unit can submit a nomination for the World Food Prize.
    • Such an entity may submit as many applications as it deems appropriate. All applications are confidential and the identity of the nominators and the organization proposing them are strictly confidential.

    • Applicants remain eligible for a period of three years, starting from the year of submission. Proposers are encouraged to provide up-to-date information during this period. After this three-year period, a whole new application must be submitted for the candidate to continue to be considered.
