USAID’s Leaders for Advanced Democracy (LEAD) Program is a five-year initiative that helps build the next generation of democracy advocates in Mongolia. The program has the following objectives

An intensive emerging leaders program, bringing together 230 emerging Mongol advocates of change to develop skills, network, and implement group projects to address poverty and unemployment, transparency and anti-corruption, and environment and urbanization.
The LEAD Alliance connects emerging Mongolian leaders with their counterparts in the region to position them as champions of regional democracy and mentors to 65 LEAD Alliance fellows from Bhutan, Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar.
Development of civic education curricula and citizen engagement initiatives with high school students, including competitions for thousands of students in Mongolia to take action to solve real community problems.

    Eligibility Criteria :

     

    • A valid passport and ability to travel to Mongolia in February 2021.
    • Between 25 and 40 years.
    • Demonstrated three years of professional experience in areas related to the objectives of the LEAD Alliance program.
    • Sufficient command of the English language to communicate with other LEAD Fellows.
    • Demonstrated commitment to community leadership, democratic values, and the inherent dignity of all people.

    Benefits :

    The LEAD Alliance Exchange Program will cover the following cost

    National and international travel required to participate in the Visa Summit rate (for
    Myanmar and Bhutan Fellows)
    Shared accommodation (two Fellows per room)
    Meals and an additional stipend during the Summit

    As a LEAD Alliance International Fellow, participants will join and engage with the region’s most inspiring and motivating democracy advocates in a variety of ways: through webinars, mentoring programs, and other networking events, including LEAD Alliance 2021 international summit. Participants will also have the opportunity to work closely with emerging Mongol mentor leaders and jointly apply for a small grant to put their vision of change into practice.
