Applications are open for the fall of 2020 session of the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program at Stanford University.

Knight-Hennessy Scholars develops a community of future world leaders to address complex challenges through collaboration and innovation. Each year, up to 100 high-performing students from around the world will receive full funds from pursuing a graduate degree at Stanford, including the DMA, JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MS, and Ph.D. programs, as well as joint programs – and Double Degree. Knight-Hennessy Scholars is the most extensive academic study program in the world.

The program offers opportunities for leadership development, tutoring, and experiential learning. As a Knight-Hennessy Fellow, candidates will develop the depth and range of experience of the subjects to face the many significant challenges and opportunities of the future. They will be part of a unique community of change agents of diverse origins. This is a community that will support them, motivate them, and make them responsible for achieving their goals, even when the chances of success seem to be possible against them.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    Applications from citizens of all countries are encouraged. That’s natural since Knight-Hennessy Scholars is expected to have a global impact.

    • One is eligible to apply for the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program if he / she applies to enroll in any full-time graduate program at Stanford (for example, but not limited to, DMA, Eng., JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA) , MS or PhD) or if he / she plans to pursue one of Stanford’s many postgraduate study options (eg, but not limited to, MD + PhD, JD + MA, MBA + MS)
    • One eligible to apply to Knight-Hennessy Scholars if he or she is nominated during his / her final year of study to obtain his / her first bachelor’s degree or within five years of earning his / her first bachelor’s degree. For the cohort that applies in 2019, that means that one must have graduated in January 2014 until September 2020 to enroll at Stanford in September 2020.
    • If the applicant is still in college studying for his first bachelor’s degree, he is eligible to apply as long as he completes his first bachelor’s degree before enrolling as a graduate student at Stanford.
      If the applicant has obtained a postgraduate degree, he / she will still be eligible to apply in 2019 provided that he / she has obtained his / her first bachelor’s degree in 2014 or later.

    Benefits :

    The education of Knight-Hennessy Scholars is fully funded for any graduate degree at Stanford. During each of the first three years of graduate school, Knight-Hennessy Scholars receives:

    • a scholarship that is applied directly to cover tuition (in accordance with the department’s standard enrollment level) and the associated fees, and
    • a stipend for living and academic expenses (such as room and board, books, academic supplies, instructional materials, local transportation, and reasonable personal expenses), and
    • a travel stipend to cover an economy class ticket for an annual trip to and from Stanford.

    In addition to these

    • Knight-Hennessy Scholars may also request supplemental funds to support academic efforts (eg, conference trips).
    • If one engages in optional research projects during the summer, the Knight-Hennessy Scholars program can provide funds for the summer.
    • Knight-Hennessy scholars who pursue a positive impact through social entrepreneurship may be eligible to apply for seed funds.
