Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program

The Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program supports teaching assistantships in over 30 languages in hundreds of universities and U.S. colleges. Fulbright aims to improve Americans’Americans’ knowledge of foreign cultures and languages.

The program allows educators from more than 50 nations to improve their professional abilities while learning firsthand about the United States, its culture, and its people.

Role of FLTA:

  • Joining groups and getting involved in the community helps students promote their culture and values outside of the classroom.
  • Foreign language classes with a youthful, up-to-date component.
  • Additionally, enhance or educate under the supervision of U.S. professors.
  • Come back with a good level of English proficiency.
  • Furthermore, can speak about the United States, its culture, and its people from personal experience.
  • Additionally, they should participate in academic research that will strengthen their postgraduate education and help them advance professionally.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    Here are the eligibility criteria for the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant:

    • At the time of application, the applicant must be a resident of the country of nomination.
    • Have a solid academic record and the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree; Many colleges and universities value master’s degrees.
    • Are adaptable and eager to learn new things
    • Furthermore, they can work creatively and independently while also eager to collaborate as part of a team with students, staff, faculty, staff, and students.
    • Applicants must show integrity, maturity, professionalism, and dependability clearly.
    • Also, they can live in both rural and urban settings.
    • Furthermore, the applicant must not be a dual citizen of the United States to participate in the program.
    • Applicant must be fluent in English, as demonstrated by a recent score of no less than 79-80 (Internet Based TOEFL – IBT), 550 (Paper Based TOEFL), or 6.0 (Overall Score International English Language Testing System – IELTS).
    • Test scores can be submitted to IIE by indicating the institutional code 2326 on the test day.
    • In addition, an applicant must be an early career English teacher or in the process of becoming one, or an early career educator in a relevant discipline; prior teaching experience is recommended.
    • Have a genuine desire to teach original language and culture to American kids.
