    Eligibility Criteria :

    Here are the eligibility criteria to apply for the grants program:

    • Profitable organizations are not eligible to apply for the funding.
    • Open to registered nonprofit or charitable organizations with a proven track record of engaging with youth to raise awareness of NCD risk factors and preventative techniques.
    • ‘Funding-ready’ organizations must be able to offer adequate documentation in the English language to prove their charitable status, governance, and financial situation.
    • Organizations must have been registered and operating for at least three years, with a total reported income in the previous fiscal year of more than $50,000 but less than $1,000,000.
    • They will help groups working in underserved areas around the world. These are most likely to occur in low- and lower-middle-income countries or environments.

    Here are the benefits of the Young Health Global Grants:

    • Around 20 organizations will get grants of up to USD 10,000.
    • Masterclasses on funding and digital skills to establish effective health promotion initiatives and opportunities to share your work with worldwide audiences.
    • After approval, applicants have completed CAF verification; they will be eligible to join AstraZeneca’s Young Health Programme (YHP) Alumni Group.
    • The YHP Alumni Group provides opportunities for learning and development, and networking among Step Up! Grantees and young leaders who have previously received YHP Scholarships.
    • In 2022, it will offer 50% of funding to initiatives headed by women (either one person or a group of persons with the majority being female/identifying as female), with a preference for young women leaders, as part of its commitment to gender parity (18-35 years old).

    They will prioritize a project in the selection process on the following basis:

    • It seeks to protect young people from NCDs.
    • They encourage young healthcare leaders to address the critical risk factors for NCDs: hazardous alcohol use, cigarette use, poor food, physical inactivity, and air pollution exposure.
    • NCD prevention education also enhances the knowledge and capacity of future healthcare leaders under the age of 35 years.
    • Working with community health professionals, medical students, careers, or young people interested in a healthcare career is one example.
    • In addition, it is trying to improve fair access for all community members.
    • Moreover, it can demonstrate existing local partnerships that can benefit local or national health systems.
    • Furthermore, a nonprofit can manage the project with the financial resources and capacity to deliver a gift of this level.
    • Lastly, it is organized to give evidence of what has been delivered, outcomes for young people, and lessons learned in preventing NCDs at the end of the project.
