ARNTD_USAID African Researchers Small Grants Program 2019

Applications are already open for the ARNTD/USAID Small Grants Program for African Researchers of ARNTD / USAID 2019. The African Research Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases (ARNTD) with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the help of the government of the United Kingdom. In addition, through the Coalition for Operational Research on Neglected Tropical Diseases (COR-NTD), it is seeking proposals for operational and social science research on “the emerging challenges facing the implementation of the NTD program in Africa.”

This third edition of the Small Grants Program (GSP III) is to support African researchers. Both in the early and middle/late careers to undertake an operational investigation aligned with the objectives established in the London Declaration on Neglected Tropical Diseases. SGP III consists of two ways of financing small grants:

Small grants for junior researchers
Small grants for mid-career and / or senior researchers.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    here is the eligibility criteria for grant

    • Applicants must currently be employed or enrolled as students in an academic, health or research institution in Africa. In addition, for the duration of the grant
    • You must demonstrate a commitment to research related to NTD, as well as the skills and experience required. Especially to carry out the proposed work
    • Must be able to provide evidence of the result of the investigation. Including publications and / or presentations at scientific conferences
    • Specific for grant applicants for junior researchers:

     

    • Applicants must be an early career researcher, defined as a basic biomedical scientist, a clinically qualified researcher or a public health researcher, who has not previously successfully competed as a principal investigator for a major research grant (i.e., ≥USD 200,000)
    • You must have at least a master’s degree or you must actively enroll in doctoral studies. Applicants who hold a doctorate (for example, PhD, DrPH, DSc) must have graduated no more than seven years ago. Physicians (eg, MBChB, MBBS, MD, DVM holders) who have not completed a master’s degree must have specialized training (eg, Membership, scholarship) or be able to demonstrate relevant research experience / training
    • Currently you should not occupy positions higher than the level of teacher / assistant professor or equivalent
    • Must be able to provide written evidence of the commitment to provide mentoring and supervision by a senior researcher with a history and a continuing commitment to NTD research.
