Call for applications for the Scholarships of the Schlumberger Foundation 2020-2021. Scholarships fully funded by the Schlumberger Foundation are offered to women who wish to pursue a doctorate. or Post Doctorate in STEM fields (Physical Sciences, Engineering, Technology and related disciplines) in any best university in the world.
The long-term objective of the program is to generate conditions that result in more women pursuing scientific careers by reducing the barriers women face when entering STEM disciplines, thereby reducing the gender gap. The members of the Faculty for the Future are expected to return to their countries of origin after completing their studies to contribute to economic, social and technological progress by strengthening the STEM teaching and research faculties of their home institutions. They can also make contributions in the public sector where their newly acquired technical and scientific skills can help provide evidence-based support for the formulation of STEM policies. In doing so, they become powerful role models and help inspire other girls and women to pursue scientific careers.
The Schlumberger Foundation is accepting new applications for the Fellowships of the Faculty for the Future 2020–2021 from September 5 to November 7, 2019. The Faculty for the Future program, launched in 2004, awards scholarships to women from developing economies and emerging to get Ph. RE. o Postdoctoral research in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in the main universities of the world.
The initial duration of the scholarship is one academic year. The renewal of the grant is not automatic, but it is subject to academic progress, the quality of the references (a reference from the supervisor of the host university is mandatory) and the criteria for the renewal process of the Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future program .
Grants from the Faculty for the Future are based on the actual costs of eligible expenses up to a maximum of USD
50,000 per year for a doctorate. and a maximum of USD 40,000 per year for a Post-doc and can be renewed until the end of the studies. Renewal grants are subject to performance, self-assessment, recommendations of supervisors and solid evidence of reintegration plans in the country of origin.
