The applications are open for the YSEALI-ENGAGE Workshop 2019 : Empowering the next generation for the promotion and popular commitment in noncommunicable diseases that will take place from April 29 to May 4, 2019 in Bandung, Indonesia.

Are you taking steps to prevent non-communicable diseases or poor mental health in your community? Would you like to connect with other young professionals to do more? Then consider applying to the YSEALI-ENGAGE 2019 program, sponsored by the US Embassy. UU In Jakarta, Indonesia, the East Asia and Pacific Office of the US Department of State. UU And RTI International.

The program is part of the Young Leaders Initiative of Southeast Asia, YSEALI. YSEALI-ENGAGE will enable the next generation for the promotion and participation of grassroots organizations in noncommunicable diseases. Its objective is to equip and connect young leaders from the countries of ASEAN and Timor Leste to prevent the increase of non-communicable diseases and poor mental health in their communities of origin.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    • Be a member of YSEALI. Join YSEALI at https://yseali.state.gov/;
    • Be between 18 and 35 years of age at the time of application;
    • Have a valid passport with an expiration date of September 2019 or later
    • Be a citizen of one of the following countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Laos, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam or Timor Leste;
    • Be a resident of one of the following countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia,
    • Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Laos, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam or Timor Leste;
    • Be proficient in English reading, writing and speaking;
    • Demonstrate interest in public health issues, especially campaigns or community-based prevention activities on noncommunicable diseases and / or mental health, whether through paid employment, volunteer work, unpaid internships or courses;
    • Demonstrate a commitment to be socially active in affecting positive change in the community;
    • Be willing to participate actively in an intensive program;
    • Be willing to implement a post-workshop mini-project in your community to help prevent and / or combat noncommunicable diseases and / or mental health conditions.

    • The selected participants will participate in a face-to-face workshop in
    • Bandung, Indonesia, from April 29 to May 4, 2019, to develop their knowledge and skills and form part of a network of leaders prepared to effectively and collaboratively address the burden of noncommunicable diseases and the poor. Mental health in Southeast Asia.
    • Participants will benefit even more from online training, access to regional and global mentors and opportunities to partner with relevant companies, institutions, experts and colleagues.
    • They expect the 44 selected participants to collaborate in teams from several countries to design innovative and far-reaching solutions and campaigns to carry out on their return home.
    • All program costs, including flight / transportation, meals and accommodation, will be covered for selected participants.
