UNESCO International Fund for Cultural Diversity 2022

UNESCO’s International Fund for Cultural Diversity 2022 is now accepting applications. If you are public arts or cultural institution or a local or international non-governmental organization (NGO) with a project that will contribute significantly to the creative economy, you must apply!

The International Fund for Cultural Diversity is a fund established for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. The applications are open to projects from eligible countries and aim to assist in creating active cultural sectors in developing nations.

Objectives of the IFCD:

Projects must contribute towards:

  • Strengthen the capacity of public and civil society organizations to support local and regional cultural industries and markets in eligible countries that abide by the IFCD’s aims and objectives.
  • The implementation and elaboration of policies and strategies that directly impact the creation, production, distribution, and access to a diverse range of cultural goods and services in eligible countries that abide by the IFCD’s aims and objectives.

    Any of the following can nominate a candidate:

    • Governments and institutes from qualified countries are invited to apply.
    • Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from qualified nations are invited to participate 
    • INGOs are international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) registered in countries that have ratified the 2005 Convention.
    • The IFCD funds projects that result in structural change by introducing and/or elaborating policies and strategies that directly impact the production, creation, distribution, and access to a diverse range of cultural expressions, including cultural goods and services and activities.
    • Strengthening the human and institutional capacities of public sector and civil society organizations is necessary to support local and regional cultural industries and markets in developing countries.

    Download the following documents from the official website to help prepare the application.

    • Project Framework Form (for Microsoft Excel (2011 or later versions) or similar apps). 
    • Annotated Guide
    • Documents that aren’t required but are helpful.
    • List of eligible nations.

    Application Process:

    • One must submit their application directly to the CSC using the CSC online application system. The request must be submitted and approved by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for which you have the academic appointment. The CSC will not accept any application that is not submitted through the CSC’s online application system.
    • Only one application per applicant will be accepted for these scholarships.
    • Supporting Documentation: You must provide the following supporting documentation by 4:00 PM (BST) on April 14, 2020 in order for the application to be eligible for consideration:
    • Proof of citizenship or refugee status; a copy of your valid passport (or national identification card) showing your photograph, date of birth and country of citizenship, uploaded in the online application system
    • Complete college transcripts and certificates detailing the qualification dates for your primary medical degree – uploaded to the online application system
    • Academic reference from the Head of the Teaching Hospital Department that describes how the acquired skills are required. All references must be submitted directly by the referees to the online application system (the referees will receive an application by email)
    • An endorsement from the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in which you have the academic appointment that confirms your academic appointment sent directly by the Dean to the online application system (an application will be sent by email to the Dean)
    • Statement of Support from Your Proposed First Choice Supervisor at UK University Hospital – Submitted Directly to CSC (Request to Email Supervisors)
    • The CSC will not accept supporting documents
