The Global Call for Nominations for the posts of Special Representative of the Secretary General (SRSG) and Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General (DSRSG) in United Nations peace operations is an outreach initiative conducted by United Nations Headquarters. It is managed by the United Nations Leadership Support Section, which is part of the Departments of Political Affairs and Peacebuilding and Peace Operations. The first call was held in 2017.
The Global Call initiative aims to increase and diversify the group of potential candidates for senior leadership positions in the field, including in order to advance gender parity and geographic diversity at the senior leadership level of the United Nations.
Candidates who meet the minimum requirements, after an internal review process, will be included in the Senior Leadership Database (LEAD), the United Nations group for potential senior candidates Only those deemed suitable for specific publications As they arise, they will be invited to participate in a competitive selection process.
