Applications are now open for the UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program 2023 in Japan. The University of Tokyo wants to facilitate undergraduate students from different countries who want to pursue a profession in biology or related sciences and want to continue their graduate studies with biomedical research experience in the primary and translational sciences. International students will be able to gain knowledge and skills for conducting research. The students are also likely to extend their global network through collaborative ventures. UTokyo Amgen Scholars Program provides students with valuable hands-on research experience in graduate schools and the University of Tokyo research institute. Amgen Scholars program was established in USA in 2006, in Europe in 2008 and Japan at the Tokyo and Kyoto University in 2015. The fully-funded research internship undertakes scientific research projects at many leading global institutions.
The UTokyo Amgen Scholars program will take place from 5 June to 5 August 2023 in Japan and Singapore. This fully funded research internship aims to equip young students with short-term biomedical research experiences in the primary and translational sciences with the supervision of different faculty members. In addition, participants will learn international networking and expertise in various areas.University of Tokyo Amgen Scholars Program gives students an excellent opportunity to complete their summer Internship in Japan. Participants will Explore & they will see the Door open toward their Future Careers. University of Tokyo Amgen Scholars Program faculty will consult with students before so that they may develop a clear research plan before arriving in Japan. This enables the students and the labs to prepare their research contents and methods well. Once the students come, they will be under the close supervision of full-time tenured faculty members and work with other graduate students in the lab.
With the lab experience, the students will have a chance to learn about Japan, its people, and its language. Students will also learn Japanese language lessons and culture. This program aims to provide students with cutting-edge research experience and unforgettable memories of Japan. It will inspire them to become better researchers and better people with a good understanding of global values. The deadline for the Amgen Scholars Program is 1 February 2023.
