In June 2015, the United States and Pakistan established an Education, Science and Technology Working Group (ESTWG) under the Bilateral Strategic Dialogue. During the official visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to meet with President Obama and other US officials on October 22, 2015, the two leaders discussed the proposal to establish the United States-Pakistan Corridor of Knowledge and ordered their respective governments to intensify Your cooperation in this important framework. to achieve the ambitious priority objectives of the development of high-level human capital foreseen in the Pakistan policy document Vision 2025.

According to the Plan, ten thousand (10,000) Pakistani academics will join US universities in the next ten years as an effort by the Government of Pakistan to train their teaching resources in identified thematic areas.

As Phase I, 1500 scholarships will be financed through the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) and the project has been approved at ECNEC, held on January 25, 2017.

    To be eligible, you must:

    • Pakistani Nationals / AJK
    • Candidates who have an MS / M.Phil. Degree (18 years of education) of universities recognized by HEC
    • Candidates with a 4-year degree (16 years of education), eligible for direct admission to Ph.D. programs in US universities.
    • Age limit: maximum 40 years for regular professors and researchers from public sector universities / R&D organizations, and 35 years for all others
    • He has obtained valid and acceptable GRE and TOEFL scores required for admission to US universities. .

    • Have a maximum of 2 second divisions throughout the academic career.
    • Not having 3rd Division or grade D in your career
    • Not less than 50% of qualifications in the academic career.

    The grant will be offered for a maximum period of 4/5 years.

    • The scholarship covers living expenses and return air tickets; However, it does not cover tuition. Candidates must ensure admission with full exemption of tuition, from a university among the 235 US universities.  Selected or from a university included in any of the 23 university systems, mentioned in the segment ‘US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor’ segment of HEC website.
    • The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has negotiated tuition exemptions for Pakistani students, with different top American universities. HEC will refer potential candidates, who meet the basic eligibility criteria for awarding the HEC scholarship, to associated American universities, to consider admission and waiver from fees. To the candidates selected by the University of the USA. . Host after meeting the respective admission criteria will be offered an HEC scholarship under the project ‘US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor’.

    User register

    To log in, visit http://eportal.hec.gov.pk/US-pakcorridor

    New user registration:

    To create a profile for the user for the first time, complete the form available on the link mentioned above.
    Click on ‘Register’ for new users and follow the steps detailed below:

    • You must create a user ID using your CNIC (without hyphens) as the user ID and select your password.
    • Create an account and complete the required information available on the screen.
    • Click and get the “Mobile Code” on your mobile number provided. for further processing (Currently, MNC / Ported numbers are not supported)
    • After receiving the code on your mobile phone, enter the code.
    • Enter your email ID and click Send code. You will receive a code in your email provided.
    • Please enter a valid email ID.
    • Perform the code verification and click submit.
    • You will be registered successfully. Please check your email for more information.
    • You will be asked to enter your ‘User ID’ and ‘Password’ and then ‘Login’ in the HEC electronic portal.
    • Complete the wise online profile section at http://eportal.hec.gov.pk
    • Click on ‘Scholarships and grants’ on the left ‘Navigation’ and then ‘Application from the US-PAK knowledge broker’.
    • Now follow the instructions, complete and submit the form successfully.

    2. ‘Login’ for applicants who already have a common profile on the HEC E portal:

    • If you have already created a user ID at http://eportal.hec.gov.pk, click and enter the user ID and password and ‘Login’ and continue to obtain a scholarship by clicking on ‘Scholarships and grants’ in ‘Navigation’ on the left and then, ‘US-PAK Knowledge Corridor Application’.
    • Now follow the instructions, complete and submit the form successfully.
