The SciLifeLab Prize for Young Scientists was established in 2013. Considering the environment’s difficulty for students who wish to pursue their scientific careers, they have launched this international prize to encourage students to begin their scientific careers. It is a global prize that is aimed to reward scientist at an early stage of their career.

Science, SciLifeLab, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) have collaborated to create the Science & SciLifeLab Prize for Young Scientists 2025. This international award will recognize excellence amongst young researchers from all over the world. The international prize was launched with the aim & vision of recognition that global economic health depends upon a vibrant research community. This vision will only come true when we encourage the best and brightest students to continue in their chosen fields of research.

There are four categories of this international science award. The categories are Cell and Molecular Biology, Ecology & Environment, Molecular Medicine, and Genomics, Proteomics and Systems Biology Approaches. The Science & SciLifeLab Prize for Young Scientists is awarded annually, and the international prize will be awarded to four young scientists. The award will be provided to outstanding life science researchers based on their doctoral degree earned in the previous two years. The science competition will award the grand winner with a prize money of 30,000 USD, and the other three winners will get a prize money of 10,000 USD each.
