Here are some of the eligibility criteria for Pappalardo Fellowships Competition, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA
To enter the Pappalardo Scholarship contest, a candidate can only be nominated by a faculty members or senior researchers in physics, astronomy, or related fields. Self-nominated applicants will not be accepted.
The faculty nominator does NOT send a reference letter along with the online nomination form. Instead, the candidate herself will submit the nominator’s contact information to academicjobsonline.org (AJO) as one of her three referees. AJO will then email the faculty referees directly with instructions to send the nominator’s reference letter directly to their secure and confidential server.
Current MIT graduates students and postdoctoral researchers, or those who have already received an offer for a postdoctoral position from a member of the MIT faculty, will only be considered in exceptional circumstances.
