Opportunities Circle is here with another international fellowship. OWSD Early Career Fellowship is accepting applications. This career fellowship is open to all women who have completed their PhDs in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subjects. Moreover, OWSD seeks candidates employed at an academic or scientific research institute in a Science and Technology Lagging Countries (STLCs). The duration of the Career the fully funded fellowship is three years and provides up to $50,000. In addition, Fellows will gain leadership and management skills.
OWSD stands for the Organization for Women in Science for Developing World and is an independent organization based at The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) office in Italy. Being a program unit of UNESCO, it is the first international forum to highlight women scientists from the developing and developed worlds in scientific and technological fields. OWSD provides research training, network development, and network opportunities for women. They support fellows in building an environment at their institutions to maintain international research standards. Fellows will also develop new connections with scholars worldwide, thus attracting potential funders to ensure the sustainability of the research project. They will be undertaking their research projects in one of the eligible countries. Also, candidates must provide evidence that they have spent a significant period in that country.
Furthermore, OWSD fellows will also learn how to transform their research into marketable products effectively. Through this fellowship in Europe, candidates will develop communication and outreach skills, helping to make an impact on a broader scale.
