Applications are open for New Media Writing Prize 2021. It is a platform that promotes new writing styles and phenomena. This competition offers you a chance to come forward with interactive storytelling as they showcase the best work, including innovative stories, poetry and literature. It provides you with an opportunity to be creative, use your creative skills and come up with excellent written pieces.

The primary purpose of the new media writing prize is to collect good pieces that are easily accessible to read on web pages, PCs and laptops, or hand-held devices such as your tabs and mobile phones. It could be any piece of writing, for example, a short story, a poem, a novel, a documentary etc.

This platform requires you to make your written work more attractive by combining words with images and videos to make the visual presentation of the text more appealing to the reader or viewer.     Eligibility Criteria :

    Here are the eligibility criteria for New Media Writing Prize:

    • Participants must use new digital media/transmedia to create innovative stories/ poems/any other form which could be fictional and non-fictional.
    • The reader or the viewer must be able to easily access the piece of writing.
    • Participants must use interactive elements in his or her writing piece effectively.
    • The writing piece must convey the message that new/advanced media can portray the ideas better than other traditional media.
    • The writing piece must have the potential to reach out to a large audience and does not only target a specific group of people.
    • Non-interactive word files are not eligible for this competition. The writing must not be text-only.
    • The use of digital media to be more expressive is mandatory.
    • The entries are needed to be written in the English Language.
    • It is an open call for everyone; anyone can apply; a student, a professional, a musician, and an enthusiast.
    • It is open to everyone outside the UK, as it is an international competition.

    Application Process:

    • The submission process for the New Media Writing Prize is online.
    • Each entry must contain an URL for the judges to access your work.
    • If the entry is to be viewed on a mobile phone etc., the details should be mentioned.
    • Each entry must contain the following details in the text of the entry:
    1. Tile name, relevant URL, download instructions, app access code if needed.
    1. Name, email address, telephone number, postal address. (For joint entries, details for each individual must be mentioned and the identification of the main entrant.)
    1. A short autobiography (50-100 words) for each individual, even joint entries.
    1. If the applicant is a student, he/she must attach proof of identity, for example, a student card.
