Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 3 | Win up to $50,000 | OYW Summit

Great news for those looking to participate in an international competition! The Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 3 is currently accepting applications. Supported by AstraZeneca, this contest invites small, innovative, youth-led non-profit organizations dedicated to addressing the climate and health issues affecting young people. The Lead2030 Challenge is particularly for young leaders passionate about making the world a healthier place to live. SDG 3 revolves around ensuring healthy lives and well-being for all people. This challenge is calling all young leaders under the age of 30, working for or leading a non-profit organization from around the world to participate in the  Challenge by Lead2030. The Lead2030 Challenge is looking for innovative solutions that can be scaled up and includes generous funding from AstraZeneca. This international challenge is a fantastic opportunity to showcase innovative solutions. Therefore, if you are interested in SDG 3, make sure to read till the end.

Similarly, the Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 3 offers $50,000 to the winning solution, hence providing cash prizes. The competition also includes a fully funded scholarship to attend the 2024 One Young World Summit in Canada. The winner will also receive mentorship from AstraZeneca and participation in a development program through the YHP’s Impact Fellowship. Hence, enabling people to participate in the OYW Summit for free. In addition, the Challenge in 2024 welcomes diverse areas relevant to SDG 3. These include enhancing youth climate advocacy skills, raising awareness about health issues, advocating for environmentally friendly solutions to address health disparities, promoting entrepreneurship in the climate-health sector, addressing food waste, promoting healthy eating habits, and more. Therefore, it is an excellent opportunity for people with impactful climate/health equity projects for the youth.

Moreover, all fellows of the Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 3 will have the chance to contribute towards the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 that includes improving health outcomes and fighting climate change.     Eligibility Criteria for Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 3:

    • The challenge by Lead2030 is open to young leaders/founders aged between 18-30, leading or working for a non-profit organization.
    • Citizens of all eligible countries are welcome to apply for this funding opportunity.
    • All solutions must be aligned with the SDG 3 to be eligible.
    • Similarly, candidates must demonstrate a positive impact through their involvement in leading climate and health equity projects that benefit youth aged 10-24.
    • Successful candidates must also attend the One Young World Summit in Montreal, Canada, from 18 to 21 September 2024, in person.
    • They should also fully engage in a one-year Young Health Programme Impact Fellowship and attend at least 75% of its modules and activities.
    • Moreover, proficiency in the English language is essential for effective communication and participation in the Challenge.
    • All candidates should be able to lead and manage the non-profit project funded through the fellowship.
    • The registered non-profit organizations must have been operational for at least three years and have a total reported income in the last financial year exceeding $100,000 but less than $2,000,000.
    • The organization must also be ‘funding-ready’ and able to provide appropriate documentation in English.
