Holcim Building for Peace Scholarship for One Young World Summit is an opportunity for young leaders from all around the world who want to bring positive change through innovation. Holcim is working with One Young World to introduce the Building for Peace Scholarship 2023. This scholarship in the UK is offered to share awareness and conversation about the importance and necessity of housing for everyone. This international scholarship will select five young leaders to join the international group representing Holcim at the OYW (One Young World) Summit 2023. This fully funded scholarship will allow participants to visit the UK for free. This OYW summit scholarship is a unique opportunity for young people to travel to the UK for free. It will cover all expenses of the scholarship recipient individuals. Young people from every part of the world can apply for this Holcim Building for Peace Scholarship for One Young World Summit. People with leadership qualities are encouraged to apply for this UK scholarship program. People who are related or interested in the following two fields: ‘Housing innovation that is both affordable and sustainable and Supporting vulnerable communities and refugees’ will be a great addition to this scholarship and one young world summit scholarship. The term ‘Building for Peace’ itself shows the meaning of this program. The international scholarship program aims to build houses or places for people to live peacefully.
Everyone living in this world has the right to have a place called home. But some natural and human activities like conflict, persecution, violence, and climate disasters have displaced more than 100 million people. Many people still need to get the basic human needs and facilities. Due to these reasons, many people seek shelter or a place to live, even in low living conditions. They do not even get basic health facilities and hygiene, which can cause health issues. They have no safety facilities or protection against heat, dampness, rain, cold or wind. People live in temporary settlements and can live for decades in these camps or settlements.
Holcim, in partnership with the Norman Foster Foundation, aims to build for the betterment of people and the planet. They are trying to create a model for comfortable, the Essential Homes Research Project, which should be durable and housing for the displaced people. In this partnership, the Foster Foundation designed required housing to provide comfort, safety and betterment for displaced people who can live in temporary camps for over twenty years. Holcim is providing innovative and sustainable ideas and solutions from ECOPact, to make sustainable building available for everyone. This UK scholarship program will support young leaders making an impact in societies and providing housing facilities to deserving people, which will save those people from many health issues.
