These envoys are recognized for their outstanding work in promoting the healing power of the arts and its positive impact on well-being. Envoy members typically include professionals, community leaders, practitioners, innovators, advocates, activists, creative influencers, policymakers, philanthropists, scholars, educators, curators, cultural producers, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, scientists, and researchers. As a part of the Global South Arts and Health Week, the envoy members will work to inspire positive change not only in their local communities but also on a global scale. Moreover, the exchange program includes 17 thematic areas across various arts and healthcare fields.
In addition, the GSAH promotes learning and cross-disciplinary initiatives across the regions of Africa, Asia, and Latin America (collectively known as the Global South.) The inception of the Global South Arts and Health Week takes inspiration from the multicultural collaboration and artistic interactions within the Arts in Medicine Projects, which have been led by the Global Arts in Medicine Fellowship program.
