Global Coding Competition – Google Code Jam 2022

Google’s longest-running google coding competition, Code Jam, pits programmers of all levels to compete against one another. Competitors must complete a series of online algorithmic problems to qualify for the world finals, where they will compete for the championship title and $15,000.

The willing applicants can register for the Code Jam Online Qualification Round and compete. It lasts 27 hours, although the applicant won’t need that much time to reach the qualifying point requirement for the round. After that, they’ll move on to Round 1 of the online competition. There will be three sub-rounds in round one, the participant can compete in as many as needed to finish in the top 1,500 in any of them.

The top 1,500 participants from each sub-round advance to Code Jam Online Round 2 to vie among the top 1,000 contestants. The top 1,000 participants proceed to the 3rd round of the competition online and get a limited-edition Code Jam t-shirt.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    Here are eligibility criteria for the global coding competition:

    • Following countries that are not eligible to take part in the contest:
      • Donetsk People’s Republic
      • Luhansk People’s Republic
      • Crimea
      • Canada
      • North Korea
      • Quebec
    • To enter or win a Contest, applicants do not need to buy any Google product or service.
    • A current employee, contractor, intern, officer, or director of Google or its affiliates are also not eligible to compete.
    • At the time of registration, the applicant must be at least 16 years old to compete in the final round of Code Jam or Hash Code.
    • However, the applicant must be at least 18 years old at initial registration.

    Benefits of the Global Coding Competition:

    • Cash prizes will be awarded to all winners and top runner-ups.
    • The top 1,500 contestants from each sub-round proceed to Code Jam Online Round 2 to compete for a place among the top 1,000.
    • The top 1,000 competitors continue to the online third round of the competition and get a limited-edition Code Jam t-shirt.
    • Winners will get the championship title. 

    Prizes:

    • If the applicant proceeds to the Final Round of Code Jam and makes at least one submission, they will receive one of the following cash prizes.
    • 1st prize holder will get the cash prize of $15,000.
    • 2nd prize holder will get the cash prize of $2,000.
    • 3rd prize holder will get the cash prize of $1,000.
    • 4th to 25th place will get the cash prize of $100.
    • If the applicant is one of the 1,000 highest-ranked contestants from Code Jam Round 2, he/she will win one t-shirt.

    • Applicants can register for the competition online.
    • Before Participating in a Contest, applicants must first register for it.
    • Creating a Contest Profile does not imply that he/she has entered a Contest.
    • Furthermore, applicants are only allowed to register for one contest at a time.
    • Deadline to register for online contest is 3 April 2022.
