Applications are open for the CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024.CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship 2024 is a funded fellowship for international students. This funded scholarship is offered for postdoctoral research students. The CRI postdoctoral research scholarship will provide up to $78,000 and an allowance of $5,000 per annum to fellows that will help them pay for research supplies, travel to scientific meetings, and health insurance.

The Cancer Research Institute Irvington Fellowships supports qualified young scientists who are a part of leading universities and research centers from all over the world and have a keen interest in receiving international training in fundamental immunology or cancer immunology. The CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship Program promotes youthful researchers who aim to obtain instruction in basic or cancer immunology. A panel of scientists from the CRI Scientific Advisory Council evaluates each applicant, the expected sponsor and training environment, and the nature and feasibility of the proposed research project.

CRI seeks hypothesis-driven studies in both immunology and tumor immunology. The applicant and sponsor should make an effort to signify the potential of their proposed studies that can directly impact the organization’s understanding of the role of the immune system in cancer. A fully funded postdoctoral fellowship promotes youthful skilled researchers at the world’s major universities and resettlement centers to receive instruction in immunology and cancer immunology fundamentals. Each applicant will be evaluated by a committee of the science consultative board. CRI is most interested in research that immediately affects the immunology of cancer.

    Eligibility Criteria for CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024:

    • Applicants should have good knowledge of English.

    • Applicants who have 5 or more years of postdoctoral experience in a relevant field are not eligible, except for M.D. applicants, who can exclude the years of residency in this calculation.
    • Only in some circumstances, applicants who have already passed 3 or more years in a sponsor’s laboratory by the start date of the CRI fellowship can be considered for the award.
    • The postdoctoral fellowship can be performed in the United States or abroad, but it must be at a non-profit institution. There are no citizenship restrictions.
    • Only one fellow per sponsor can apply per application round, and faculty sponsors can only have three CRI-supported fellows at one time.

    Benefits of the CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024:

    • The fellows will get a stipend of $74,000 for the first year, $76,000 for the second year, and $78,000 for the third year.
    • In addition, they will also get an allowance of $5,000 per year allotted to the host institution/university which can be used for the sponsor’s discretion and to pay for the fellow’s research supplies, travel to scientific meetings, childcare, and/or health insurance.
    • CRI provides an opportunity for fellows to attend CRI’s annual International Cancer Immunotherapy Conference (CICON).
    • Furthermore, scholars can also participate in CRI’s soon-to-be-launched Bioinformatics Bootcamp.

     

    Requirements for the CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowships:

    • PDF application form, with all signatures.
    • Brief description of the applicant’s background and research accomplishments (half to a full page).
    • List of other funding sources to which applications have been or will be submitted, with due dates.
    • CV and bibliography (NIH biosketch preferred).
    • Summary of your project, describing how the proposed research is relevant to the role of the immune system in cancer or the treatment of cancer through immunological means (one page).
    • Abstract of research in non-technical English which explains the importance of the proposed research and its potential clinical relevance (250 words only)
    • Aims of the project (only 1 page).
    • Concise research proposal (only 4 pages)
    • Letter from the sponsor
    • Sponsor’s CV /biosketch and a list of the sponsor’s current research support.
    • Two letters of recommendation are required.
