    Eligibility Criteria :

    The eligibility Criteria for the Catapult Development Grant 2022 are:

    • Interested candidates must be 18 years or older as they do not provide funding to students.
    • The time duration of the documentary must be 28 minutes or longer. They do not fund series.
    • Candidates can add animations to the documentary. They will observe documentary/narrative hybrids on a case-by-case basis.
    • Development Grant should be only used for the process of completing a fundraising piece, which may include writing, shooting, and editing. (once the story and characters are in the place).
    • Furthermore, candidates should own the copyright of their production.
    • Also, they should have artistic, budgetary, and editorial control over their project.
    • Candidates with previous film or television production experience in a principal role (Director, co-director, producer, and co-producer) are encouraged to apply. They should submit their previously completed project sample.
    • Candidates with no previous experience will have to demonstrate that they will be working with an experienced filmmaker in a principal role.
    • Catapult provides grants to only 501(c)(3) organizations. It means there should be a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor for the project. Film production companies or individuals from outside the US can apply without a fiscal sponsor.

    • Filmmakers should demonstrate credible access and rapport with the proposed subjects of the story.
    • There should be originality of form, approach, or content.
    • The project’s potential should be to create public discourse and social engagement.
