Applications are now open for the Bass Visiting Fellowship 2020 (Fully Funded) for the senior researchers
The Field Museum invites you to submit applications for your high-level Bass Senior Visiting Fellowship scholarship. Selected applicants receive support for long-term visits, usually between three and six months, to work at the Field Museum to collaborate with the museum’s faculty on specific research projects.

We encourage projects that focus on one or more areas of research in Life Sciences, Social Sciences and Earth and Planetary Sciences; encourage collaboration between individual research programs; and have an interdisciplinary component. Each project must lead or contribute to peer-reviewed scientific publications. We will also give priority to candidates who complement the existing experience in the Field Museum. The Scholarship and Science Financing Committee will review applications for scientific merit, interdisciplinary and collaborative aspects, and congruence with the Museum’s research strengths and collections.

A Field Museum sponsor must support each request. Similarly, individual scientists and their research programs can be found in the personnel lists of the Integrative Research Center, the Collections Center and the Center for Scientific Action.
Contact your potential sponsors to develop your application. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that approval letters are sent before the application deadline; otherwise, the request is incomplete.

In order to apply for the Fully Funded Bass Senior Visiting Fellowship, the candidates must submit the following documents:

Scientific proposal with an executive summary (maximum of 250 words) and description of the project detailing its objectives, scientific merit. In addition, the candidate must emphasize motivation in a broad context, interdisciplinary aspects, feasibility, work plan and references. The proposal should not have more than two pages in a 12-point font with one-inch margins, including figures and tables.
Full budget between $ 8,000 and $ 12,500 with justification (one page). In addition, budgets may include living expenses, travel, research costs and salary subsidy if properly justified. The support can serve as a stipend for living expenses in the
Chicago area while receiving a salary from the home institution.
A CV with a list of publications.
PDF copies of three selected publications
Names and contact information, including the email addresses of three arbitrators.
