The Words of Resilience Essay Competition is initiated to tackle the urgent issue of urban flooding due to climate change, rapid urbanization, and insufficient risk reduction infrastructure. As cities undergo continuous expansion and population growth, they become more vulnerable to the severe consequences of floods. These floods can result in significant economic losses and property damage and threaten public health and safety. This essay competition is presented by the Youth 4 Disaster Risk Reduction (Y4DRR). 

The primary goal of this international essay competition is to create a platform for young individuals to express their concerns, ideas, and solutions for improving urban flood resilience through written essays. This endeavor aims to raise awareness about the issue and foster innovative approaches to reduce flood risks. Submit your essay now for an opportunity to win fantastic cash rewards! There are three different cash prizes for first, second and third position, starting from USD 500 to $150.
