The WBG Youth Summit is the largest gathering of youth hosted by WBG to engage thousands of participants from around the globe. The WBG Youth Summit Pitch Competition aims to address and provide solutions to the most pressing problems facing their generation. With their 10th edition of the program, they want the youth to address the development issues that are generated locally, scaled up regionally and elevated globally. The theme of the Summit 2023, “From the Ground Up: Local solutions to Drive Global Impact,” is more localized and engaging for youth to address and play their part in prevailing global issues. The youth summit will also help to grow professionally by engaging with leaders from around the globe. The theme of the 2023 Summit also reflects the World Bank’s commitment to fostering local ownership, enhancing knowledge and providing solutions against global development challenges.
The discussion of the WBG Youth Summit revolves around the three areas crucial to development, including fragility, conflict, and violence-affected locations; climate change, including energy security and transitions; financial security through employment and skill development. Participants will be able to develop their personal and professional skills and knowledge by engaging with different young professionals and leaders around the globe. Before applying for the summit, a seminar with professional panelists will be held who will brief the participants about all the competition details and requirements to be eligible.
The WBG summit competition 2023 will take place in Washington, D.C, and participants can attend it physically and virtually. The international competition will be held on 25-26 May 2023, and it will be for two days only. Anyone around the globe can apply irrespective of nationality, race, color and socio-economic background. The participants will also get to present their ideas and solutions in their desired way. World Bank also encourages participants to provide cross-cutting solutions that address the needs of indigenous people, rural women, marginalized communities, and other vulnerable groups facing local challenges.
The Summit Competition 2023 will not only provide youth a platform to present their solutions but also an opportunity to showcase their talent. It’s a great opportunity to learn and excel in the areas you’re lacking and can also make a global network for future prospects.
