United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Fellowship Programme 2019

Alliance of Civilizations of the United Nations – Applications for the UNAOC Scholarship Program is open. The purpose of the Community is to question perceptions and deconstruct stereotypes by offering members first-hand publicity of the cultural variety. This year, the program will pay attention to “The position of the ladies in the preparation of peace and the prevention of battles”.

The name will result in the election of 12 youngest leaders from Europe, North America (EUNA) at one end, and a group of 12 younger leaders from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) at the different end. Participants from each geographic space will travel to the area of their counterparts for two weeks.

    • The Call is open to members between 25 to 35 years previous, from the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and North America, having a healthy curiosity in intercultural knowledge.
    • The theme of the Fellowship 2019 is “The position of ladies in peacemaking and battle prevention.” Candidates should be capable of current skilled achievements in these fields.

     To be eligible as EUNA candidates, candidates have to be:

    • Citizens from the United States, Canada, or a rustic member of the Council of Europe (plus Belarus)
    • Born between January 1st, 1984 and December 31st, 1994
    • Fluency in English
    • Working straight within the fields of gender AND peacemaking or battle prevention.
    • In possession of a passport legitimate not less than three months past July 2019 (October 1st2019 and past)
    • Must not have participated in any of UNAOC programmes before.
    • Available in the journey for 15 days in June or July 2019 as scheduled by UNAOC. Final dates will probably be confirmed four weeks earlier than departure.

    To be eligible as MENA candidates, candidates have to be:

    • Citizens from the Middle East and Israel or Palestine.
    • Born between January 1st1984 and December 31st1994
    • Must be Fluent in English
    • Working straight within the fields of gender AND peacemaking or battle prevention.
    • In possession of a passport legitimate not less than six months past November 2019 (May 1st2020 and past)
    • Did not have participated in any of UNAOC programmes before.
    • Able to travel for 15 days in October or November 2019 as scheduled by UNAOC. Final dates will probably be confirmed four weeks earlier than departure.

    Selection Criteria

    The jury may also ensure that the ultimate choice is:

    • Gender balanced
    • A region balanced between members from North America, Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East
    • Limited to 2 members per nation
    • Professionally restored with not more than a 3rd of members working in the same sector or trade.
