The UNICEF Innovation Fund for Tech Startups , in partnership with the Global Alliance to End Violence Against Children and Giga, is seeking non-equity investments of up to $ 100K to provide seed funding (seed) to tech startups for the purpose of profit that has the potential for the benefit of humanity.

If you are a startup using machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, or extended reality, you are registered in one of the UNICEF program countries and have an open-source prototype that works (or is willing to do it open-source) with promising results, the UNICEF Innovation Fund is looking for it.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    Projects for UNICEF Innovation Fund for Tech Startups are evaluated by the UNICEF Innovation Fund team and recommended to the internal board for funding. Businesses must meet the following mandatory requirements to be considered for funding:

    • Registered as a private company.
    • Registered in a UNICEF program country (see list here)
    • Work on open source technology solutions (or are willing to use open source) with the following licenses or their equivalent:
      • for software, a BSD license,
      • for hardware, a CERN license and
      • a CC-BY license for design or content, a CC-BY license
    • An existing prototype of the open-source solution with promising results from the initial pilots
    • The solution has the potential to positively impact the lives of the most vulnerable children.
    • Have publicly exposed real-time data that is measurable
