The 2019 Funshop will be generously supported and organized by the Lee Seung-Yuop Baseball Foundation, established by Mr. Lee Seung-Yuop, the much loved champion of the Korean Baseball Hall of Fame.

The use of sport to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is gaining momentum worldwide. UNESCO is the leading agency of the United Nations charged with protecting and promoting sport and is dedicated to promoting the contribution of sport to sustainable development and peace. Therefore, UNESCO is looking for young leaders from Asia and the Pacific to participate in 2019 Sport & SDGs FUNSHOP for young people: a three-day event specially designed to enhance the capacities of young activists who use sport as a tool for youth. sustainable development. peace. Participants at the Funshop will have the opportunity to become members of the UNESCO Youth and Sports Working Group, a vibrant network of young leaders established in November 2017 after the first Sport Funshop held in Manila, Philippines.
Sixty young outstanding leaders from various countries in Asia and the Pacific will join young Koreans to participate in intensive workshops, sports activities and networking events for three days in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
The selected applicants will be the main funshop participants and are expected to contribute to all activities. This includes the main sessions focused on collecting the perspectives of young people on issues and opportunities that shape the sports sector for development.
Aligned with the UNESCO Operational Strategy for Youth 2014-2021, the priorities and the specific thematic topics to be discussed will be decided by the current members of the Working Group, together with UNESCO.
