UNESCO Silk Roads Youth Research Grant 2022

The UNESCO Silk Roads Youth Research Grant is now accepting applications for the year 2022. This international research grant aims to get young researchers involved in further research on the shared heritage of the Silk Roads.

The goal of the study is to look into specific issues such as common ancestry and numerous identities developed along the Silk Roads. It is a potential for social cohesiveness, regional and worldwide cooperation, and intercultural exchanges in contemporary societies, Internal heterogeneity and Finally, long-term peace and progress.

The UNESCO silk roads youth research award was established in 2021 as part of the silk roads initiatives, with support from the People’s Republic of China’s National Commission for UNESCO, in the context of the UNESCO social and human sciences program.

Fields of research:

A wide range of study disciplines are acceptable, including multidimensional and multidisciplinary projects that are not restricted to a single timeline or place. The proposed research could include a variety of topics related to the Silk Roads’ shared legacy, including but not limited to:

  1. Technology and science traditional know-how
  2. Art and music
  3. Language and literature
  4. Traditional sports and games
  5. Economy and trade
  6. Spirituality and region.
  7. The legacy of the silk road and contemporary issues.

    • The scholarship is open to postgraduate researchers who are 35 years old or younger at the time of application.

    • Applicants must submit a study proposal explaining their research project, expected outcomes, existing techniques, and contribution to existing scholarships by downloading and filling out the template given.
    • Proposals must be written in the English language.

    1. A maximum of 3 pictures can be submitted, could be presented as a montage as well.
    2. Mention key messages in your submission for details in writing.
    3. Photos must not be altered beyond standard optimization.
    4. Pictures must be your original content and not be picked from somewhere; otherwise, the participants will be disqualified.
