The Sydney Brenner Research Fellowships will be provided to only those proposals that are detailed, sophisticated, and original. Although the relevance of the project (proposal) to the CSHL collections (and vice versa) is a significant consideration, the committee will primarily focus on the overall quality and importance of the project.
The Sydney Brenner Research Fellowship 2025 is a paid fellowship program. The international fellowship will award up to $5,000 (USD) to each fellow. The stipend amount can be used to support the costs of completing the proposed project, including a period in residence at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) in the USA. Brenner Fellows will receive full access to their collections, a workspace in the Carnegie Library, and assistance from their staff of historians, librarians, and archivists during their stay.
