Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship 2019-20 Study in Switzerland

Eligibility Criteria :

Ph.D. in Philosophy. Criteria

• Master or equivalent university degree recognized by the Swiss university. The applicant must have reached this grade before the start of the program next September. As proof, the title must be submitted to the Federal Commission for applications before the start of the program.
• Date of birth of the applicant after December 31, 1983.
• Applicants who have been in Switzerland for more than a year at the beginning of the program in September are not eligible.
• Applicants must provide a letter from an academic host professor (including their short curriculum vitae) at the chosen Swiss university confirming why they are willing to supervise and support the doctoral thesis. Without such support, the request will be rejected.
• Applicants must have a research proposal that includes a calendar. This is the centerpiece of the application. The applicant must devote all the required attention.
• Applicants must have mastery of the language skills necessary for doctoral / research studies.
• Applicants who have already benefited from a Swiss government excellence scholarship are not eligible to apply for a second scholarship.
• Scholars are expected to move to Switzerland during their grant period.

Post Doctorate
It cannot have been more than five years between the award of the Ph.D. and the application deadline.
Applicants who are in Switzerland for more than one year at the beginning of the program in September are not eligible.
Applicants must provide a letter (or email) from a professor at the Swiss host institution stating that they are willing and entitled to supervise the postdoctoral research. Without such confirmation, the request will be rejected.
Applicants must have a research proposal that includes a time frame (this is the centerpiece of the application. The applicant must devote all the required attention).
Applicants must have mastery of the language skills necessary for postdoctoral research.
Applicants who have already benefited from a Swiss government excellence scholarship are not eligible to apply for a second scholarship.

Research criteria

Criteria of fine arts

Bachelor or equivalent.
Applicants must be born after December 31, 1983.
Applicants must begin their scholarship no later than three years after graduating with their Bachelor’s degree.
Applicants who have been in Switzerland for more than a year at the beginning of the program in September are not eligible.
Applicants must have mastery of the language skills necessary for the master’s program.
Applicants who have already benefited from a Swiss government excellence scholarship are not eligible to apply for a second scholarship.
Scholars are expected to move to Switzerland during their grant period.
