TheĀ  Applications for the International Summer School Turkey 2019 are now open. International Youth Camp Turkey is a fully-funded summer exchange program for the 57 ICO member states and Muslim minorities in non-ICO countries.

The Youth Forum of Islamic Cooperation (ICYF), in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkey and the Anadolu Agency, will organize a Summer School in Turkey for media training that will exhibit to learn about journalism and global issues of current media, heritage, language, culture.

This is a great summer school for young people, for both men and women. Anyone between 18 and 35 years old. The aim of the summer camp in Turkey is to bring together and integrate young people who share common values, historical and cultural heritage to strengthen the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between them and their societies.

    As we have discussed above, the Turkey Student Exchange Program 2019 is a fully-funded summer school for all participants that will cover the following expenses detailed below:

    Travel: round trip travel expenses from your country of residence to the camp site in Samsun will be covered. Also participant visa, medical and travel insurance.
    Visa fee: the visa fee of the participants is also covered.
    Medical: medical and travel insurance will be covered.
    Accommodation and additional costs: Host organizers will cover domestic transportation, accommodation, food and other relevant costs related to local hospitality.

    Main Objectives of the summer camp training

    • Improvement of the capacity and participation of youth media.
    • Explore the interconnections between the media and social (in) tolerance, especially with regard to immigrants and refugees.
    • Identify possible work directions in the media and strategies that reflect the social realities of the participants.
    • Understand and evaluate the reliability of journalistic work (for example, unbiased reports, use of adequate sources).
    • Explore the participation of young people in the media in culturally diverse societies.
    • Strengthen the connection of young people with heritage, language, culture and identity through the media.

    Application Process:

    • One must submit their application directly to the CSC using the CSC online application system. The request must be submitted and approved by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for which you have the academic appointment. The CSC will not accept any application that is not submitted through the CSC’s online application system.
    • Only one application per applicant will be accepted for these scholarships.
    • Supporting Documentation: You must provide the following supporting documentation by 4:00 PM (BST) on April 14, 2020 in order for the application to be eligible for consideration:
    • Proof of citizenship or refugee status; a copy of your valid passport (or national identification card) showing your photograph, date of birth and country of citizenship, uploaded in the online application system
    • Complete college transcripts and certificates detailing the qualification dates for your primary medical degree – uploaded to the online application system
    • Academic reference from the Head of the Teaching Hospital Department that describes how the acquired skills are required. All references must be submitted directly by the referees to the online application system (the referees will receive an application by email)
    • An endorsement from the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in which you have the academic appointment that confirms your academic appointment sent directly by the Dean to the online application system (an application will be sent by email to the Dean)
    • Statement of Support from Your Proposed First Choice Supervisor at UK University Hospital – Submitted Directly to CSC (Request to Email Supervisors)
    • The CSC will not accept supporting documents
