JJWBGSP offers scholarships for more than 200 preferred programs and 14 associate programs in the best universities in the world of the United States, Africa and Japan. After completing the degree, students will return to their home country to work for their community.

TheJOINT JAPAN WORLD BANK SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 2019 is a fully funded 2019 scholarship. The Japan / World Bank Joint Scholarship Program will cover tuition, a monthly lodging stipend, round trip airfare, health insurance and travel allowance.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    • Be a citizen of a developing country member of the World Bank;
    • Do not possess dual citizenship of any developed country;
    • Being healthy;
    • Have a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) obtained at least 3 years before the application’s deadline;
    • Have 3 years or more of recent work experience related to development after obtaining a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent);
    • Be employed in jobs related to development in a full-time paid position at the time of submitting the scholarship application. The only exception to this criterion is for nationals from developing countries in a country who will be on the updated list of fragile and conflicting states that are provided to applicants in the Application Guidelines for each scholarship call.
    • On or before the scholarship application deadline, be admitted unconditionally (with the exception of funding) for the next academic year to at least one of the JOINT JAPAN WORLD BANK SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 2019 preferred master’s degree programs located outside the country of citizenship of the applicant and the country of residence that appears at the time when the call for applications for scholarships is opened.

    SELECTION PROCESS:

    JJ / WBGSP uses the following process to review applications for eligible scholarships from nationals of developing countries,

    with the objective of identifying candidates with the greatest potential, after completing their graduate studies, to impact development. of their countries. Two qualified evaluators review each eligible application independently and rate the application on a scale of 1 to 10, taking into account four main factors and the degree of cohesion between them: Quality of professional experience (30% by weight) Quality of professional recommendations (30% by weight) Quality of commitment to your country of origin (30% by weight) Quality of education Background (10% by weight) The JJ / WBGSP Secretariat uses the average score of the two evaluators and the following criteria to select the finalists: Maintain a reasonably wide geographical distribution of Awards; Maintain a reasonable distribution of awards according to gender; Circumstances / unusual difficulties, when evaluating employees experience and other aspects of an application; grant scholarships to those applicants who, under equal conditions, have limited access to financial resources for postgraduate studies abroad. The JJWBGSP Secretariat presents finalists for the preferred program fellowship to the JJ / WBG Steering Committee (composed of members of the World Bank Board of Directors and WB administration) for approval. The finalists of the association scholarship are presented for approval on a continuous basis throughout the year, coinciding with the admission cycle of the associated universities of JJWBGSP. In all cases, the winners are notified shortly after the approval of the JJWBG Steering Committee.

    Application Process:

    • Applicants can apply for scholarships for Preferred and Partner programs. The process to apply to a Preferred Program and a Partners Program varies:
    • Those seeking a JJ / WBGSP Partner Program scholarship (.xlsx 15 KB) must first apply for admission to one or more of the Membership Master Programs.
    • Questions about how to apply for admission to an associated program should be sent to the appropriate university.
    • After reviewing submitted applications, each Partner Master Program will identify a short list of eligible candidates who will then be invited by the JJWBGSP Secretariat to apply for a JJ / WBGSP scholarship. See the complete list of JJ / WBGSP member masters offered.
