Applications are open for the Academy Academic Program at Harvard University, which is open to all recent Ph.D. recipients and Ph.D. candidates in social sciences or law. The Academy Academic Program identifies and supports outstanding academics at the beginning of their careers whose work combines disciplinary excellence in the social sciences or law with a command of the language, history or culture of countries or regions outside the States United or Canada. Your scholarship can elucidate domestic, comparative or transnational issues, past or present.
The Academics of the Academy are a select community of individuals with ingenuity, initiative, curiosity, and originality, whose work in cultures or regions outside the United States or Canada is promising as the basis for exceptional careers in major universities or international institutions.
Academics of the Academy are appointed for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in residence at the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. They receive substantial financial and research assistance to undertake sustained research projects and/or acquire additional training in the chosen fields and areas. Senior Scholars, a distinguished group of Harvard University faculty members, act as mentors to the Academy Scholars to help them reach their intellectual potential.
