Flash Fiction Writing Contest

The Brilliant Flash Fiction Writing Contest is now accepting applications. They are inviting writers for the writing contest from all over the world to contribute fiction works on whatever subject they want. The purpose is to provide readers with the best and most unusual foreign fiction.

Dawn Lowe and Laurie Scavo founded Brilliant Flash Fiction in 2014 as an online quarterly literary publication. Ed Higgins joined Dawn and Laurie in 2015. Lastly, Pamela Painter will be the judge for the 2022 Writing Contest.

    The following are the eligibility requirements for the writing contest:

    • Open to writers of any age.
    • All the international participants are welcome to apply for the flash fiction writing contest.
    • Each author can submit one entry.
    • Only fiction is allowed. There will be no poetry or essays.

    Benefits :

    The following are the prizes offered to the winners of the Flash Fiction Writing Contest:

    • The first prize winner will get $200.
    • The second winner up will receive a $100 cash prize.
    • A third finalist will get $50.
    • For shortlisted stories, $20 and publishing on the Brilliant Flash Fiction website.

    For the Flash Fiction Writing Contest, candidates must follow formatting guidelines.

    • Double-space the story and use a font size of 12 pt. in Times New Roman.
    • As this is a blind-judged competition, the candidate must not identify itself in its narrative. Instead, attach a brief author bio to the contest entry as a separate file.
    • The results will be released before June 30, 2022.
    • All rights to submitted work remain with the authors.
    • Entries that are longer than 500 words or published elsewhere will be dismissed right away.
    • All entries must be unpublished and original. This means that entries that have already been accepted for publication elsewhere, such as blogs, radio broadcasts, personal web pages, and so on, are ineligible.
