Opportunities Circle is here with the EJN Biodiversity Fellowships at UN Conference in Canada. Earth Journalism Network invites Professional journalists from low and middle-income countries to apply for this fully funded fellowship. They will attend and report from the UN Convention on Biological Diversity in December 2022. The United Nations fellowship will occur in Montreal, Canada, from 7 December to 19 December 2022. Candidates will also get mentorship from EJN trainers and senior journalists who have valuable experience covering other UN summits. Fellows will engage with their cohort and exchange ideas for effective reporting on the issues under negotiation. Eight fellows will be selected for the fellowship. Moreover, they will participate in specially designed activities, including an orientation session with biodiversity experts and interviews with high-level professionals.
Representatives from 195 nations will gather at the upcoming 15th Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity. The UN Biodiversity Conference’s central theme is to talk about deepening biodiversity crises that are causing a collapse of a natural ecosystem. This has led to a catastrophic collapse of the ecosystem we depend upon for survival. They are looking to adopt the “Post 2020 Global Biodiversity Framework” at COP15.
Furthermore, the journalism fellowship in Canada is an excellent chance for candidates to strengthen their capacity to report on biodiversity issues. Fellows will engage with international journalists from diverse backgrounds. This international fellowship seeks journalists with experience covering biodiversity and other environmental topics. So don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and apply now. The last date to apply is 15 September 2022.
