The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program was established by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs to allow French higher education institutions to attract the best foreign students to enroll in their master’s and doctoral programs.

It provides the opportunity for future foreign decision-makers from the public and private sectors, in priority study areas, and encourages applicants up to 30 years of age from developing countries at the master’s level, and applicants up to 35 years old from developing and industrialized countries. at the doctoral level.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    • Combination with other scholarships: foreign students who, at the time of the application, have already received a scholarship from the French government under another program are not eligible, even if the scholarship in question does not include social security coverage.
    • For the Eiffel Master Scholarship: no application will be accepted for any student who has previously submitted an application but has been rejected, even if the application is submitted by a different establishment or in another field of study. Students who have already received an Eiffel scholarship at the teacher level are not eligible to resubmit an application at the teacher level.
    • For the Eiffel PhD scholarship: establishments can nominate a candidate who previously received an Eiffel scholarship at the master’s level for a PhD scholarship. Candidates who have already received an Eiffel scholarship once during their doctorate cannot receive it a second time. No application will be accepted for any student who previously requested but was rejected, even if the request is submitted by a different establishment or in another field of study.
    • Language skills: When pre-selecting candidates who do not speak French, establishments must ensure that their language skills meet the requirements of the corresponding course of study.
      Students who take a course of study abroad have priority over those who already live in France.
    • Nationality: This program is reserved for candidates of non-French nationality. Candidates with two nationalities, one of whom is French, are not eligible.
    • Age: for the master’s level, the candidate must be at most 30 years old on the date of the selection committee; born on March 12, 1987 or later. For the doctoral level, the candidate must be at most 35 years old on the date of the selection committee; Born on March 12, 1982 or later.
    • Origin of applications: only applications submitted by French educational establishments are accepted. These establishments undertake to enroll scholars in the course for which they have been selected. Applications submitted by any other means will not be considered. In addition, any candidate nominated by more than one establishment will be disqualified.
    • Study courses: the scholarships are for students who wish to enroll in a master’s degree course, even in an engineering school, and for doctoral students.
    • The Eiffel Program does not apply to French master’s courses abroad, since non-doctoral fellows must complete at least 75% of their course in France. It also does not apply to training under a learning contract or a professional training contract.
