CAS-TWAS President’s PhD Fellowship Programme is open for application

According to a settlement between the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) for the development of science in growing nations, as much as 200 scholars/students from everywhere in the world shall be sponsored to check in China for doctoral levels for as much as four years.

This CAS-TWAS President’s Fellowship Programme gives scholars/students which might be non-Chinese residents a possibility to pursue doctoral levels on the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) or Institutes of CAS round China.

The funding length of the fellowship is as much as four years WITH NO EXTENSION, divided into:

  1. Maximum 1-year research of programs and participation in centralized coaching at UCAS/USTC, together with four months obligatory programs in Chinese Language and Chinese Culture;
  2. Practical analysis and completion of a diploma thesis at faculties and colleges of UCAS/USTC or CAS institutes.

    • Be the most age of 35 years on 31 December 2019;
    • Not take up different assignments throughout his/her fellowship;
    • Not maintain Chinese citizenship;
    • Meet the admission standards for worldwide scholars of UCAS/USTC (criteria of UCAS/criteria of USTC);
    • Hold a grasp diploma earlier than the start of the autumn semester: 1 September 2019;
    • Provide proof that he/she is going to return to their house nation on completion of their research in China in keeping with CAS-TWAS settlement;

    Benefits :

    Thanks to beneficial contribution of CAS, fellowship awardees will obtain a month-to-month stipend (to cowl lodging and different dwelling bills, native journey bills and medical insurance) of around USD 1017.77 or around USD 1163.16 from CAS via UCAS/USTC, relying on whether or not he/she has handed the qualification check organized by UCAS/USTC for all doctoral candidates after admission. All awardees may also be offered tuition and application payment waivers.

    Application Process:

    • The application process for the fully funded DAAD EPOS Scholarship 2027 is online. 
    • Applications must be sent directly to the respective University. Applications sent to the DAAD will not be considered or forwarded to the appropriate courses. 
    • Applicants must send their complete application with all the required documents directly to the appropriate postgraduate course. 
    • Applicants can apply for up to three postgraduate courses. If they choose more than one course, they must mention the list of courses in order of priority in the DAAD application form. 
    • The application must be submitted in English or German. 
    • A selection committee will suggest the potential applicants for this DAAD EPOS scholarship in Germany. 
    • DAAD will contact the suggested applicants to upload their complete application to the DAAD Portal. 
    • Make sure that you have a copy of each application document ready in PDF files, as those documents have to be uploaded to the DAAD Portal in case the applicant is suggested for the DAAD scholarship 2027.
