Now in its fifth 12 months, the Tana Forum annual essay competitors are geared toward acquiring views from the youth on varied peace and safety challenges confronted throughout the continent. The competitors are open to African nationals enrolled in increased schooling establishments primarily based in Africa and within the diaspora.

Tana High-Level Forum on Security in Africa is an annual assembly that brings collectively African leaders and stakeholders to have interaction and discover African-led safety options.     Application Process:

    Submission Guidlines

    • Entries should be typed, double-spaced, in 12-point Times New Roman with a one-inch margin on all sides.
    • Essays should be between 5-10 pages in size excluding reference supplies.
    • The essay should be the unique work of the applicant supported by a complete record of sources. Essays on matters aside from “Political Dynamics within the Horn of Africa: Nurturing the Emerging Peace Trends” won’t be accepted.
    • Essays should be written in English or French.
    • A reference record in the APA model should be included with a minimum of three primary sources, i.e. books, periodicals or newspapers. Other sources could also be accessed online, supplied they’re cited accurately. Any submissions missing three significant sources can be disqualified.
    • Any essay utilizing crowd-sourced and publicly editable sources similar to Wikipedia can be disqualified.
    • Essays should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Essays submitted in every other format won’t be thought of.
    • Email your essay with the topic line: [Full name] 2019 Essay Competition.
    • Attach a brief bio that features your title, university, diploma title (BA, MA or PhD.), nation of origin and makes contact with info (e-mail tackle, phone quantity).
