ASEAN-Australia Young Leaders Forum 2019 Fully Funded Indonesia

Applications for the ASEAN-Australia Young Leaders Forum (AAYLF) are now being Open!

The ASEAN-Australia Young Leaders Forum (AAYLF) is an intensive four-day funded workshop that aims to cultivate the next generation of leadership in the ASEAN-Australia relationship. Delegates to the Forum will develop a deeper understanding of the ASEAN-Australia relationship, foster stronger intercultural leadership skills, build a regional network of like-minded youth, and design, and implement projects to improve ASEAN-Australia relations. Delegates will leave the Forum as defenders and agents for greater collaboration and collaboration between ASEAN and Australia.

The forum will include panels of experts, skill development workshops, hackathon, intercultural events, and opportunities to establish professional contacts. The detailed schedule of the program will be announced at a later date.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    here is the eligibility criteria which is required for this program

    • Be between 18 and 29 years of age as of November 29, 2019.
    • Have a good command of English.
    • Able to commit to completing a pre-forum online curriculum
    • Be available to attend AAYLF in Jakarta between November 28 and December 3 and meet the applicable visa requirements
    • Actively participate in current affairs that affect ASEAN member states and / or the ASEAN-Australia relationship.
    • Be willing to act as ASEAN-Australia Strategic Youth Leader for a duration of 12 months after the Forum
    • Have a valid national passport from Australia or ASEAN.
      Submit your completed application (consisting of both the written request and the short video) before the deadline to submit on August 9, 2019.

    Benefits :

    All selected delegates will receive a full funded to attend AAYLF. The fellowship will include the following:

    • Registration of delegates to attend the Forum
    • Flights back to Jakarta from Australia or an ASEAN member state;
    • Accommodation for the duration of the Forum (from November 28 to December 3);
    • Breakfast, lunch and dinner service.

    Enhance knowledge:
    equip 40 young leaders with an in-depth and applicable knowledge of the complexities and opportunities of ASEAN and ASEAN-Australia cooperation.
    Create connections: connect young and prominent leaders from Australia and Southeast Asia in an empowered and united environment.
    Develop soft skills: develop essential skills in negotiation, collaboration, leadership, entrepreneurship, and intercultural relationships.

    Duties of delegates:

    There are three components to the AAYLF.

    First, delegates complete a pre-forum curriculum that will include an ASEAN – Australia relations webinar, a presentation of the country profile and an opinion piece to show the day of the forum. This pre-conference curriculum is mandatory because presentations and opinion articles will be presented later in the forum.
    Second, delegates must actively participate in the programmed AALYF program.
    After the forum, delegates will assume the role of ASEAN and Australia Strategic Youth Leaders for twelve months.
    The deadline to submit applications is August 9, 2019. It is recommended to apply within the deadline as late submissions will not be accepted.

    Application Process:

    1. To apply please follow the below link
    2. The application process will consist of a written application and a video submission. Delegates will be selected based on the strength of their application
    3. One may use his/her smartphone or laptop camera to record the video. Applicants need only ensure video and audio quality is sufficiently clear.
    4. It is required for the video submission to be uploaded using MP4, AVI, MOV or MKV file formats.
