Applications for the ASEAN-Australia Young Leaders Forum (AAYLF) are now being Open!
The ASEAN-Australia Young Leaders Forum (AAYLF) is an intensive four-day funded workshop that aims to cultivate the next generation of leadership in the ASEAN-Australia relationship. Delegates to the Forum will develop a deeper understanding of the ASEAN-Australia relationship, foster stronger intercultural leadership skills, build a regional network of like-minded youth, and design, and implement projects to improve ASEAN-Australia relations. Delegates will leave the Forum as defenders and agents for greater collaboration and collaboration between ASEAN and Australia.
The forum will include panels of experts, skill development workshops, hackathon, intercultural events, and opportunities to establish professional contacts. The detailed schedule of the program will be announced at a later date.
Enhance knowledge:
equip 40 young leaders with an in-depth and applicable knowledge of the complexities and opportunities of ASEAN and ASEAN-Australia cooperation.
Create connections: connect young and prominent leaders from Australia and Southeast Asia in an empowered and united environment.
Develop soft skills: develop essential skills in negotiation, collaboration, leadership, entrepreneurship, and intercultural relationships.
Duties of delegates:
There are three components to the AAYLF.
First, delegates complete a pre-forum curriculum that will include an ASEAN – Australia relations webinar, a presentation of the country profile and an opinion piece to show the day of the forum. This pre-conference curriculum is mandatory because presentations and opinion articles will be presented later in the forum.
Second, delegates must actively participate in the programmed AALYF program.
After the forum, delegates will assume the role of ASEAN and Australia Strategic Youth Leaders for twelve months.
The deadline to submit applications is August 9, 2019. It is recommended to apply within the deadline as late submissions will not be accepted.

offer opportunities to interact with expert speakers, universities, industries, and government partners, leading business figures and community organizations in the ASEAN-Australia space.
