Fully Funded scholarships are offered for international students to pursue higher education; Master’s and Doctoral programs at Wuhan University. The duration for the Master’s program scholarship is a maximum of three years and for PhD the duration is a maximum of 4 years.

The scholarships for international students are offered for majors in English and Chinese language. Chinese government scholarships are fully funded, covering all costs related to study abroad, including tuition fee coverage, free accommodation, comprehensive medical health and living allowance to support and promote studying in China. Chinese government scholarship program is initiated to promote Chinese culture and attract students from worldwide to study in top universities in China.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    Here are the eligibility criteria for the Wuhan University Scholarship 2022:

    • The applicants must be international students (non-Chinese).
    • The applicant should be physically fit to apply for the Wuhan University scholarship.
    • Applicants applying for the master’s program shall be under 35 years old.
    • Applicants applying for doctoral program scholarship shall be no more than 40 years.
    • Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in order to apply for the Master’s program.
    • Applicants must have a bachelor’s and Master’s degree to apply for the doctorate program.
    • Applicants applying for Chinese-medium majors should submit HSK certificate (level-four).
    • Applicants applying for English taught courses should provide TOEFL (80 at least), IELTS (5.5) or proof of studying in English from a previous university (oral or written English test will be conducted by Wuhan University).
    • Applicants shall not receive other awards or financial aid.

    • Living allowance (3500 RMB per month for PHD, 3000 RMB/monthly for Master).

    Required Documents:

    • Transcripts.
    • Application form for a Chinese government scholarship.
    • Application form for international students (Wuhan University) in English or Chinese.
    • Notarized degree certificate/diploma.
    • 800 words study/research plan in English or Chinese.
    • Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors.
    • Scanned copy of passport.
    • Photocopy of foreign physical examination form.
    • A valid English proficiency certificate for English taught programs and HSK certificate if selecting a Chinese taught program. Students who have previously studied at a university where teaching language was English do not need IELTS/TEOFL certificate, however, they are required to take a written and oral test at Wuhan University.
    • Acceptance letter from a professor
    • Non-criminal activity certificate or Police clearance certificate.

    • The application process for the Wuhan University scholarship in China is online.
    • First of all, register yourself and submit an online application at the Chinese government scholarship online information system.
    • The code of Wuhan University is 10486.
    • Choose program category type-B for the scholarship program.
    • Fill in the required information, submit the online application form, then download and print a hard copy.
    • Then register and submit the online application at “Wuhan University Online Application System for International Students.”
    • After submission of the online application, print a hard copy.
    • Students will be notified via email about the selection.
    • The application deadline for the Wuhan University Scholarship for international students is 15 April 2022.
