WSA Young Innovators Award is a special call within the framework of WSA, which promotes and rewards young social entrepreneurs. The WSA Young Innovators is a special recognition for young people under 26, who use ICT to take action in relation to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG).
Together with the winners of the WSA each year, they are recognized as an outstanding digital innovation with social impact.
The Young Innovators Award are a unique award system that selects and promotes local digital innovation with a high impact on the improvement of society; It is a system of non-monetary awards that focuses on the sustainable transfer of knowledge through a global network. The winners do not benefit from a single financial reward, but from a lifelong partnership and integration.
The Young Innovators Award are also a system of awards based on nominations. To participate, you must be nominated by a National Expert of the WSA as the best national digital application in one of the 8 categories. WSA nominations are possible through national competitions and the selection of the national panel of experts. Each country can only nominate one project / solution per category.
The categories of the WSA reflect the lines of action of the UN WSIS and are updated periodically to meet the development of the markets. For the edition of the World Summit Awards 2019 the categories are:

The World Summit Award (WSA) seeks digital applications that have a strong impact on society in one of the 8 WSA categories. WSA focuses on the depth of content, strategic value and local impact of a product.
