Applications are open for the USIP Peace Scholar Fellowship Program 2025-2026. The international fellowship program has supported many researchers who are now working professionally in research, policymaking, and higher education. USIP has collaborated with the Minerva Research Initiative to fund different fellowships. The USIP Peace Scholar Fellowship program 2025 in USA provides non-residential scholarships to PhD students. Students who are already enrolled in US universities and working on their dissertations can apply for the funded fellowship program. The USIP fellowship is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students. The USIP Fellowship will award up to 18 Peace Scholar Fellowships.
The duration of this USIP Peace Scholar Fellowship Program 2025 is 10 months. Members of underrepresented groups in the fields of conflict management, security studies, peacebuilding, and related academic disciplines, as well as international policymaking and diplomacy, are highly encouraged to apply to the USIP fellowship program. Priority will be given to proposals that offer strategies for minimizing conflicts in the Indo-Pacific, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East where preventative measures systems are inadequate, overburdened, or broken.
Among the topics that will be given particular attention in this international fellowship are ways to lessen violence and deal with other problems like organized crime. These offenses lead to social instability and promote migration from the Caribbean, Central and South America, and other areas. Proposals that aid in the transition to democracy and counter violent extremism in crucial regions, including East Africa, the Sahel, and West Africa, will also be taken into consideration.
The USIP Fellowship program is a paid fellowship program for PhD students. Peace Scholar fellows will complete their fellowship work at their universities or other sites that are related to their research. Peace Scholars must devote full attention to their work. Fellows of this USIP Peace Scholar Fellowship will receive a stipend of up to $20,000 in 3 different installments. USIP scholars can use this stipend to cover the cost of living in the US.
