The University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship in New Zealand annually provides up to 50 partially funded scholarships. Eligibility Criteria for the University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship 2026:

First, international students from all over the world can apply for this scholarship. However, applicants must not hold citizenship, permanent residency, or a resident visa of New Zealand or Australia.

Next, applicants must start one of the eligible degree programmes at the University of Auckland.

In addition, applicants must be new full-fee-paying international students with a conditional or unconditional offer from the university. Alternatively, applicants can be English Language Academy (ELA) students with a conditional or unconditional offer. Students enrolling in the Summer Start International programme can also apply.

Furthermore, applicants must pursue a PGDip, a master’s degree, or an undergraduate degree with overseas secondary or post-secondary qualifications. Eligible programmes also include the UoA: Your Way Master of Engineering Project Management programme. In addition, the UoA: Your Way Master of Civil Engineering programme also qualifies.

However, students who have already started tertiary study in New Zealand cannot apply. The only exception applies to students who participated in an exchange programme.

Similarly, students enrolling in Business Master programmes in the Graduate School of Management (GSM) cannot apply. However, the Master of Applied Finance, Master of Business Analytics, and Master of Supply Chain Management remain eligible programmes.

Moreover, applicants must show an excellent academic record.

Additionally, applicants must have a Grade Point Equivalent (GPE) of at least 6.00. This score qualifies them for scholarship consideration.

Furthermore, applicants must meet the university’s English language proficiency requirements.

Finally, students must register as “on Campus” students. Distance education students cannot apply for this scholarship.
