With its mandate and capital instruments, UNCDF offers “last mile” financial models that unlock public and private resources, especially at the national level, to reduce poverty and support local economic development. By strengthening the functioning of finances for poor people at the level of households, small businesses and local infrastructure, UNCDF contributes to Sustainable Development Goal # 1 to eradicate poverty and to SDG 17 on means of implementation. Therefore, UNCDF invites you to submit an application for the financial inclusion and communications internship.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    • Be in a graduate program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
    • Be in the last academic year of a first university program (minimum degree level or master’s degree or equivalent); or
    • They have graduated with a university degree and must begin the internship within one year of graduation from an academic program.
    • In addition, applicants who cannot begin the internship within the year of graduation are not eligible.
    • Demonstrated interest in economics, work related to policies, gender development, inclusive finance, communications and public relations, journalism and media or other related fields;
    • Demonstrated ability in conducting research, case studies and analysis;
    • Basic understanding of international cooperation modalities, through internships and / or studies.
    • Have computer skills in standard software applications.
    • Show great interest in the work of the UN and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter;
    • In addition, applicants will require professional work experience in communication.
    • The fluency of English (written and spoken) is desirable. In addition, knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish is a point in favor

     

    Job/Internship Description :

    • Support research and evaluation reports on issues related to Myanmar’s financial inclusion (such as women’s economic empowerment, digital financial services, savings mobilization, SME development and other relevant issues);
    • Write and produce case studies, quarterly reports, success stories, etc.
    • Update and maintain the contents of the organization’s website and social media pages;
    • Participate in workshops, forums and other events organized by UNCDF Myanmar;
    • Support field monitoring/evaluation and impact evaluation reports,
      other ad-hoc assignments as necessary.
