The world looks to the United Nations for solutions to complex problems everywhere; from ending conflicts and alleviating poverty, to fighting climate change and defending human rights. The topics on their agenda are multiple and diverse, as are the careers they offer. Among its ranks, you’ll find staff members who oversee elections, disarm child soldiers, coordinate humanitarian crisis relief, and provide administrative and logistical support to carry out complex mandates. These are just a few examples among many other equally critical and necessary functions.
The wide range of jobs means that you can change roles, departments, geographic locations, and even organizations or fields of work throughout your career at the Organization.
Does it motivate you to make a difference? Are you selfless and motivated to be part of a larger purpose in the service of humanity? And is it hope and strength of character traits that will guide your zeal to make a difference in a complex world?
Are you the type of person who will travel and work anywhere anytime?
Do you thrive in an environment that is truly international and multicultural, that respects and promotes diversity, and functions at its best through the efforts of teams of different people?
These are some of the characteristics that you will find in the UN staff. They want people with integrity. Fair, impartial, honest and truthful people. They want dynamic and adaptable people who are not afraid to think creatively, who are proactive, flexible and responsive.
If you think you embody these values, this is the place for you and your career. Apply for the UN Young Professionals Program.
