Swedish Institute Scholarships 2020

Applications for Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals are now being accepted! An estimated 300 scholarships will be available for full-time master’s degree studies in Sweden starting in the autumn semester 2020.


To begin, apply for a master’s degree program at universityadmissions.se, between October 16, 2019 and January 15, 2020.
Apply for an IF scholarship between February 10 and 20, 2020
The scholarship is intended for full-time master programs of one or two years, and is only granted for programs that begin in the fall semester. The tuition fee will be paid directly to the Swedish universities at the beginning of each semester. The stipend for living expenses is paid monthly during the scholarship period.

The period of the scholarship cannot be changed or extended beyond the period of the scholarship granted, nor can the scholarship be transferred to a study program other than the master’s degree program awarded.

The Scholarship program of the Swedish Institute for Global Professionals (SISGP) is part of the scheme of international awards of the Swedish government aimed at developing world leaders that contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It is funded by the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and administered by the Swedish Institute (SI). The program offers a unique opportunity for global professionals to develop professionally and academically, experience Swedish society and culture and build a lasting relationship with and with Sweden.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements.

    • Work experience: must have a minimum of 3,000 hours of proven employment
    • Leadership experience: They have demonstrated leadership experience from their current or previous employment.
    • Master’s programs: Master’s studies must be eligible for SI scholarships.
    • University admissions: applicants must pay tuition fees to Swedish universities and must have followed the steps of admission to the university and be admitted to one of the eligible master’s programs before April 3, 2020.

    Application Process:

    To begin, apply for up to four eligible master’s programs by clicking on the “Apply now” link before January 15, 2020.

    • University Admissions is the national online application service that handles admissions to universities in Sweden. It is an independent agency not related to the Swedish Institute (SI). The eligibility and application procedure for IS scholarships and for university admission are different.
    • After submitting the application to the master’s program at universityadmissions.se, the applicant will obtain a personal application number consisting of eight digits. He/she must save the number, as it will be necessary when applied to SISGP.
    • February 3, 2020 is the deadline to receive the application fee and supporting documents required by University
    • Admissions. The application fee is not refundable.
    • After completing the application for a master’s degree program, one can apply for an IF scholarship. The list of required documents can be found on the official website.
    • During the application period from February 10 to 20, 2020, send the required documents digitally through your online application portal. The online application portal is open from 00:00 CET on February 10, 2020 until 23:59 CET on February 20, 2020.
