    Eligibility Criteria :

    To be eligible for a paid Internship at the World Bank, candidates must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a full-time graduate study program (pursuing a master’s degree or PhD with plans to return to school full-time). There is no age limit.

    Moreover, the candidates will require to have fluent English. Knowledge of languages such as: French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, and Chinese is desirable. Other skills such as computing skills are advantageous.

     

    Job/Internship Description :

    The WB Internship Program generally looks for candidates for: Operations (Front Line) in the following fields: economics, finance, human development (public health, education, nutrition, population), social sciences (anthropology, sociology), agriculture, environment , engineering, urban planning, natural resource management, private sector development and other related fields; o Corporate support (accounting, communications, human resources management, information technology, treasury and other corporate services).

    Benefits :

    The World Bank pays an hourly wage to all interns and, where appropriate, provides a travel expense allowance of up to USD 3,000 at the manager’s discretion. These travel expenses can only include transportation costs (airfare) to or from the city of the destination. Interns are responsible for their own accommodations. Driven by business needs, most internship positions are based in Washington, DC, with some others at WB offices in the country. Generally, internship opportunities are for a minimum of four weeks.

    Application Process:

    Candidates can take their time to prepare the application before applying for the paid internship position at the World Bank. To apply, candidates must provide the following three documents:

    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    • statement of interest
    • Proof of Enrollment in a graduate degree
