Applications are open for the Mountain Photo Essay Competition 2022. A pictorial essay competition has been arranged for photographers from around the world. The program of Mountain Culture will be held at Banff Centre of Arts and Creativity. Such competition encourages amateur and young professional photographers to come up and share their work to gain recognition.

This international photo competition is set to appreciate the creativity and understanding of the photographers. The competition aims to focus on the mountains and give a chance to photographers to inspire other people with their creativity and nature.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    Here are the eligibility criteria for the Mountain Photo essay competition:

    • Amateur and professional both can participate in this competition.
    • Be the authorized owner of the copyright of the photos you share for the competition.
    • Your images must not be too old. Only images from 2020-2022 should be used for the contest.
    • The pictorial essay of up to 5 photos will be counted as one entry.
    • The essay should be in the form of pictures.
    • Photos may portray a mountain story explaining culture, wildlife, adventure, environment, sport or nature (natural history).
    • The essay should only be in digital files.

    Essay Format

    • The images shared for the contest must follow these guidelines:
    • Image must be of 1024×768 pixels; 72ppi.
    • Files should be in JPG format.
    • No larger than 1MB size each.
    • Watermarks are not allowed.
    • No digital matter, borders or frames should be added.
    • The name of the photographer should be visible on the images.
    • SRGB color space should be fixed
    • Each photo should be described briefly.
    • Each of the files must be in the following format:
    • Your Last Name underscores Your First Name underscore Essay Name underscore Image Number.
    • In case of entering more than one essay, make sure you have entered different essay names and image numbers to distinguish from other entries.
    • The name and number of your entry should be in sequence.
    • If you win the contest, you will have to submit a high-resolution version of your winning image for printing and exhibition.

    Application Process:

    • A committee of festival Director will judge the entries
    • The finalists will be selected by this committee and will be further sent to the international jury.
    • The winner will be announced in June 2022.
